Pardon my absence folks. I've been out the game for a few days due to a cold, but I'm bizzack! With that being said, while being sick at home I had a lot of time on my hands. Which basically means, I watched waaaaay too much tv, lol. So, a few days ago I came across a documentary about "The BeeGees". I couldn't help but notice how FAB Barry Gibb's hair was. I then started thinking about how some men out here have better hairstyles than some women! A damn shame yet, very true. Well, it's about that time, today I officially give my "20's" the deuces. Tomorrow I'll be the big "30"-I don't know why, but I'm sooooo excited, I can't contain myself. I think it's a mixture everything. I'm approaching a new era in my life, huge changes are in store for me and just the fact that I'm blessed to see another year. Oh, and not to mention b-day surprises that my loved ones have planned for me. That's always a plus, a gal like me sure loves surprises, I'm not even gonna lie, lol.

On a serious note though, I don’t see why some folks get depressed when they get older. It's not a big deal for me, if anything, I look forward to it. You grow wiser, happier and sexier (well-for sum folks that is, lol) all in all-your LIVING and that's the point. Some people don't live to see past their 20's heck, past their teens! That's unfortunate, so instead of complaining that I'm getting old, and getting all depressed. I'm going to embrace my age whether it be 30, 40, 50 or 60. I think folks should wake the f*ck up and be greatful their old ass is here, lol.

I can definitely say that I enjoyed my 20's, I basically did all that I wanted to. Not saying that my life is going downhill from this point on. I'm just saying I did all the crazy things that one in their 20's should do. I've also had plenty of life changing experiences during those years, good and bad. It molded me into the woman that I am today. My early 20's were great-"21" I was officially inebriated by my older sis. I mean, HARD BODY. I don't even know how I got home, just woke up the next day on the living room floor fully dressed-stilettos and all. That's the way you have to do it though, go in with a bang. Throughout those years I did the typical, partied super hard with the dolls, made a lot of mistakes, tried to discover who "Lolly" was. Dabbled in a few hobbies, learned a few things about myself that I liked and didn't like. I even tried to record an album, did a few demos. Yes, ya girl sings, been doing it since I was 5. I just do it for fun now though, I'll leave that stuff for the Beyonce's of the world. Met some crazy people and got rid of some crazy people, HA. Mid 20's-I was at a stage of confusion in my life. Didn't know where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do. I got into meditation and explored my relationship with God a lil deeper. Found answers to several questions that I had. I started my job at MTV, finally moved out of my parents house and was on my own. It was scary but I felt liberated!

Just when I thought things were finally going right, when I turned 24 my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I thought that was the end of my world. My mother was super woman to me, my best friend, my confidant, my ace and my world. She was freaking "Zena The Warrior Princess", lol. I just knew she'd push through. Years passed, and majority of my mid-20's were spent watching my mom slip away. It was the hardest, most painful thing I ever endured in my life. Yet, it made me who I am. At the age of 27 I lost my mother Bernadette Daniel. When that happened, I just thought that was it. I lost my life….but through my mother's death I learned so much. I learned how to cope with things, how to love harder, how to be stronger and how to be happier. I now, not only live for myself but live for my mom. I want to make her proud, she blessed me with life and I plan on living every bit of it to the fullest for her!!!! Now in my late 20's, I can say that there is still plenty for me to learn. Also, probably a few more mistakes to make, but I am definitely prepared this time. I am healthy, happy, have a job, have my AMAZING family, great friends, found the love of my life who treats me like a queen and most important, I have my peace of mind. Most people in their 30's can't say that therefore, I am blessed. Thank you God and I am ready to embrace this new chapter in my life……..

Although I heard about this story a long time ago-it still makes me laugh. Elizabeth Frisinger, who was 18 at the time, lost her virginity on the beach while on a class trip. So, I'm doing this 3 day raw veggie detox. Today is my first day and I swear I am hallucinating mind you, it's only 12 noon. All I can think about are burgers, and fries and sweets oh my......I'm finna go nuts in here! I am not doing for weight reasons bc I do love my curves. I'm just doing it to cleanse myself and get a little more energy. Ya girl is turning 30 next week and I must start preserving my sexy now, lol:)

My breakfast consist of fresh fruits and nuts, lunch-spinach salad w/ the works, no meat or cheese tho-*sigh*. Snack-probably a veggie juice or more nuts. Dinner-more salad or just some fresh broccolli, zucchini, carrots, peppers-yadda yadda yadda things like that-you get the picture. Oh, and lots and lots of WATER. This is actually harder than I thought, I am a huge food lover/meatatarian therefore, this is torture for me. Yet, I am going to push through, I know it's only 3 days, but it feels like an eternity. With that being said, I'll just continue to thug it out. Seriously though, I am warning folks, until Thursday this is all they'll be hearing from me.......

Today makes 9 years since the untimely passing of Aaliyah Dana Haughton, she was only 22 years old. I just wanted to take the time today to reflect on her life and enjoy her music . Oh, and ESPECIALLY her videos-big up to "Fatima Robinson" for blessing Aaliyah w/ the dope choreography! I think most ladies can agree with me and are guilty of trying to practice Aaliyah's dance routines in the mirror, lmao. Whether it was "Are You That Somebody", "We Need A Resolution", "One In A Million" or the ever so popular "Rock The Boat" video. I swear EVERY chic was trying to do that dance. Don't FRONT, you ain't gotta lie Craig-hahahha. I know for sure I'm guilty of knowing that routine inside out. My mama would get sick of me constantly rewinding the video trying to get that wind that Aaliyah used to do down packed, lol.

I was a huge fan of girl group "SWV" in the 90's. Everything from "Weak", to "Downtown", to "Right Here" and the list goes on. Let's face it, no one can wear pastel colored suits better than these two. Although, to some men Crockett and Tubbs aka (Don Johnson & Philip Michael Thomas) fashion sense was a little hard to get used to. Yet, it was one of the hottest fashion trends in the 80's. Even today in 2010 you see some men trying to emulate the infamous "Miami Vice" look. Usually when guys go away-especially to the M.I.A, they feel when in Rome do as the Romans do. You'll see men go out and get their best linen suits, pastel color shirts and button downs exposing their chest, lol. So whether you thought the "C & T" look was hot or not, you have to give them props. I personally thought their style was dope. Last night as I was flipping through the channels, I came across this show entitled Strange Sex. The topic was about "Mental Orgasms"-basically, ppl who can think themselves into having the big O! My Life: Yesterday I attended the "Konbit Pou Ayiti" event-Harlem Stage threw a wonderful Haitian concert. I had a blast w/ my family, it was amazing to see my dad in his element & rep 4 my ppl. My take on the BET Awards......

For those of you who didn't catch the awards, you missed out. This was by far the best BET awards that I've seen in a long time. I was more than excited to see Kanye open the show. As arrogant as he is- you gotta luv him! I am not gonna lie when he is off the scene, I sort of miss the kid. The main highlights of the night for me was when El DeBarge came out. WOOOO TO DA WEEEE!!!! That performance brought back so many memories of my childhood. Not only did El still look great (slick hair and all) BUT his voice was ON POINT! These young cats could learn a thing or two from him.

Another fav moment of mine was the infamous "Love Jones" Flashback. When Nia and Larenz busted out the poetry skit-I LOST IT!! Nia looked fab as usual and Oh Larenze w/ that "Brother to the night" poem-NUFF SAID!!!! Chris Breezy definitely redeemed himself with an amazing tribute to MJ!!! He left me speechless BUT not sure how sincere those tears were *sideeye*. Now although this next tribute was a bit shaky for me, I enjoyed certain parts. I am HUGE FAN of the purple one aka "Prince". Yet, I was a little disappointed with this one. Like really tho?! Where was the Raspberry Beret? Lil Red Corevette? I will die for you? Darling Nikki? *sigh*. The only two who really did him justice was Alicia (homewrecking) Keys and good ole Patti LaBelle.

Prince is not usually moved especially when folks cover his songs. Although, when Patti got on that stage he was nearly moved to tears. Oh, and let's not forget Trey Songz. Oh Tremaine how I dig you BUT that rendition of Purple Rain:( *crickets*. Prince gave him that look like "Get yo ass off the muthaf*cking stage b4 i slice you"...poor thing. Still luv ya though Trigga:) I wanna give props to Queen Latifah too who did a sick job hosting. She took it back to the Cleo look and the Ladies 1st vid-loved it!!

Last but not least- The Aftershow hosted by Diddy. Oh where do I start?!?! One word- TARAJI!!!! She was a hot stir fried, sauteed MESS:( She was sloppy drunk off of that Ciroc and didn't hide it one bit. I was beyond mortified when she put on Diddy's chains and was bopping around like a hoodrat! I was also super irked when she called El DeBarge "CHICO" wtf?!?!?! Other than that, I really enjoyed the awards. Not to mention the ppl on twitter who made it even more entertaining! Good looking folks, lol.

There are very few artists that give me goosebumps when I hear them sing. Christina Aguilera happens to be one of them. I've always been a fan of her raw and powerful voice. She always has the ability to bring a song to life, especially when singing ballads. She has what I call the "make your hair stand" effect. Which means that someone's voice is so beautiful it makes the hairs on your arms stand up, lol. With that being said, my co-worker told me to check out this live performance of Christina on VH1's Storytellers. She is singing this ballad entitled "You Lost Me"from her new album. I fell in love with it the minute I heard it and Christina's voice is amazing on this record. Check it.....

I can talk about Pac for DAAAAYYYS. Where do I start??? First off, I'd like to wish him a Happy B-day, had he lived, Pac would have been 38yrs old today.

Anyone who knows me is VERY aware of my love for him. I swore to the world that I was THE BIGGEST Tupac fan ever, lmao. Girls I went to H.S. will tell ya...I had him on my lockers, studied every single one of his songs, bought every video he had, watched every interview he did. If it was affiliated with him, I was involved in it! I've always loved Rap, but when Pac came in the game I had a new found appreciation for something I loved for years. It's like I fell in love all over again. I was fascinated by his charisma, his flow, his arrogance, his cockiness, the way he articulated his words, his storytelling just EVERYTHING. I once considered being a hip hop journalist because of him.

Unfortunately, I was never blessed with the opportunity to meet Pac, BUT my sister Marge did. It was actually the best day of my life. Long story short, my sister met him at the VMA'S in "96". My mom didn't allow me to go because I had school the next day (I'll 4give u for that 1 mama). Anyhoo, I hounded my sis all night and told her "DON'T COME HOME UNLESS YOU HAVE A PAC AUTOGRAPH OR PIC FOR ME"-LMAO. I was dead serious! All in all the night turned out amazing and YES, my sis got me an autograph and pic of Mr. Shakur!!!!!!!!! He even asked her what my name was and when she said "Lolly" he was smiling and said it was cute! OOOOOWWWW, Pac said my name was cute, I could die a happy woman,haha. That was an amazing night for me when she came home and surprised me with my gift. I now keep the pic and autograph in a frame wrapped in plastic. Sadly, a few days after that Pac was shot:(

With that being said, I just want people to remember him today and rejoice his life. Play his music, look at some of his videos whatever the case may be. Whether you liked him or not...you had to respect him! Again, Happy B-day & Rest In Peace Pac.......

Being that I will be 30 in a couple of months, I decided to do a small bucket list. These are just a few ideas that I came up with & would love to do before I die (or at least attempt to do). Even if I don't get a chance to experience these things-DAMMIT a gal can dream! Hey, I can always say that I tried even if I don't go all the way :)

1)Jump out of a plane

2) Dance at carnival. I always wanted to put one of these spicy outfits on, lol.

3) Do a duet with Adam Levine of Maroon 5. Not many ppl know this, but I've been singing since the age of 5. Don't wanna be a singer BUT-I adore Adam's voice and would love to record something with him.

4) Be a contestant on the show "Wipeout". Oh man, I'd have a blast!

5) Hot air ballooning w/ my booboo :)

6) Work for Diddy for a week. I just wanna see if he would break me. I wonder how long I'd last, lol-I love the challenge!

7) Watch an autopsy be performed. I know... sounds CRAZY, but since my mother's passing I've been so curious. Weird but true, just want to see how everything goes down.

8) Visit my mama's country Madagascar. This is something I promised her & I'll die trying!!!

9) Take a boat ride on the Nile River in Egypt.

10) Run the New York City Marathon. Yikes!

As I was listening to some tunes this am...I couldn't help but realize how much I missed old r&b groups. I mean, I was playing everything from "Jodeci", "Ready For The World", "Shai", "H-Town", "Guy", "The Boys", to "Hi-Five" and the list goes on. I really miss the boy bands of the late 80's & 90's. They don't make em like that anymore, the songs and videos were just classic.

Ready For The World sang songs about age being nothing but a #. Although, they were young they proved that they can still "love you down", lol. Shai, with their acapella 'If I ever fall in love"-which was the infamous "talent show/audition song" guys would sing everywhere. Guy-who made it ok to settle down w/ one girl on their "Let's Chill" song. Oh, and let's not forget the fashion and the dancing! Jodeci and H-Town who made wearing doc marten boots w/ no shirts and suspenders look cool, lol. The Boys-who every pre-teen girl-including myself had a crush on. Backflips and all in the video, they were too adorable!

I was thinking, they should really have a comeback tour with all of these groups. Minus-The Boys-being that they ran off to Africa and no longer do r & b music. Also, minus one of the members of H-town, R.I.P. to the lead singer who died in a car crash. Also, lead singer of Hi-Five who died from an overdose:( With that being said, my hat goes off to all of them. Thanks for giving us some great music-that we can still enjoy today.......

"The Jets" were an 80's family singing group who were formally known as "The Polynesian Pearls". They were raised in the Tongan islands in Hawaii and then moved to Minneapolis. The group consisted of 8 brothers and sisters and were discovered by Don Powell. The Jets were popular for songs such as "Make It Real", "Crush On You" and "You Got It All" (which was my FAV)…..

With their unique look, wild bushy hair and infamous "non-matching/pastel color" outfits, lol. This brother and sister group rocked the charts in the 80's with their love struck ballads. Last night legend Lena Horne passed away at the age of 92. She was definitely a class act! As a child, I remember my mom playing her music around the house while she cleaned. One of my favorite songs of Lena's was "Stormy Weather", it was just smooth & soothing. She was also the 1st black performer to be signed to a long term contract with a Hollywood studio. I even recall watching "The Cosby Show" when Ms. Horne surprised Cliff for his b-day. I always wanted to get her to sing for my dad ever since watching that episode, lol. Iconic, Regal, Graceful, Beauty and Legend. You will be missed Lena Horne, may you rest in peace......

I was missing me some L-Boogie so much that I've been rocking out to her at work. I've been asking myself the infamous question that everyone else has been asking. WHERE THE HELL IS LAURYN HILL?!?!

"The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" has to be one my favorite albums in the world. Right up there with "Off The Wall", "Purple Rain" and "All Eyez On Me". Every bit of it was pure genius, even down to her interludes. "Tell Him" and "Ex Factor" are my top songs on that album. I actually had the honor of meeting Ms. Hill about 3 years ago. Although, I was ecstatic, it wasn't the best encounter. I was on my lunch break and she was in front of "B. Smith's". She had on bell bottoms, a pink afro wig and platform shoes with a fish tank in the heel. It wasn't the Lauryn Hill that I knew and loved. She came up to me and in a raspy voice said "Wear that Bob Marley shirt well, RESPECT". Then she jumped into her car like a clown (I mean thief) in the night…very weird experience. Yet, I was sooooo happy to have met her eventhough she was off her rocker:( Lauryn come back, we miss you girl and this music industry NEEDS ya!!!!
