Legend Spotlight- Henry Cele aka Shaka Zulu.....
I was asked today by a co-worker "what ever happened to the actor who starred in the 1986 epic film Shaka Zulu" (which happens to be one of my favorite movies). Well, to answer your question his name was Henry Cele. Many people don't know that prior to Henry getting involved in acting, he was known as Henry the "Black Cat" Cele who was an extremely popular soccer player. Cele passed away at the age of 58 on November 2, 2007 from a severe chest infection. He will always be known to us as the infamous "Shaka Zulu" definitely a legend gone too soon.......
Son of a Rap King........
It's no surprise to me how much CJ aka Christopher Wallace Jr. resembles his daddy, the late Biggie Smalls. Which is why I thought it was pure genius when he was chosen to play a young B.I.G. in the movie "Notorious". I always ask myself what would have been like if Tupac also had a child to carry on his legacy??? mmmmm, one will always wonder. CJ, who is now 13- unfortunately never had a chance to know his dad who was killed in 1997. He states that although he never knew Biggie, he is extremely honored and inspired by the huge rap icon that he was. CJ, plans on following in his dad's footsteps by eventually going into the rap industry, but he first plans on heading to college and maybe studying film-Go CJ! Well, I will surely anticipate the day that Chris Jr. steps into the rap game. I am more than confident that he will have the charisma, swag, storytelling, easy flow, lyrical gift that his dad had. You have some big shoes to fill CJ, but I am sure that you will make your daddy proud!

Classic Flick.......
Who could not love the classic movie "A Christmas Story"????? It's always been a tradition in my house to bake cookies, drink eggnog (with a shot of Henny that is, ONLY for the adults-lol) and watch the infamous "You'll shoot your eye out" flick on 12/24. I think it's safe to say that although shotguns are not the "idea" gift to get your child. Ralphie made it ok for kids to ask their parents for one with the exception of losing your eyeball-heehee:)
***Get a load of Ralphie (played by Peter Billingsley) then and now sans the glasses. He hasn't changed a bit.

Thursday's Quote: Verse from MJ's song "Smile".....
"Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by... Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying "......

Just A Thought: Praying for people to stop judging and start loving flaws and all.......
One thing that I despise the most is when people judge you! None of us are perfect and may all have something that we are lacking. If God intended to make us perfect beings this world would be a very boring place. I think the problem with a lot of people today is that they search for something/someone that is damn near perfection. Don't get me wrong... everyone should have standards and know what they like/don't like. Yet, instead of judging someone and not discussing what they are lacking- communicate with them. Love entails teaching and learning, if you love that person enough-work with them! To me that is the most exciting thing about relationships and loving someone. You pull bits and pieces of what you may lack from that person. For ex: I may have a huge knowledge on music and my partner may not. I bring that to the table and enlighten him about different genres of music. I may open his eyes to country, blue grass etc…that, he pulls from me and learns. Also, if I may not be big on football or golf, whatever it may be. I get excited to hear his point of views on that and learn from him. Instead of criticizing or putting down that person for not knowing, love them more for wanting to learn from you and respect them for that. Love and relationships are all about growing, learning, teaching and communicating. Learning from one another is probably one of the most sexiest things about a relationship to me. Not being judged or badgering one for something they may lack. Instead take a different approach and pull them aside, love them and enlighten them. Nothing says love more than accepting someone for WHO THEY ARE? I know I love my man for who he is unconditionally. Just like Beyonce said "Love me flaws and all". If you are searching for that PERFECT person you'll be searching forever bc no such thing exists. Now is there "close to perfect" with a few glitches and they have everything you want but may be a lil rough around the edges on one thing? YES, that does exists and when you find it hold on, love that person and work with them. Love is hard at times but it's also a beautiful journey that consists of pain, compromise, loyalty, laughter, tears, bliss, educating, listening and enlightening. When you hold "ONE" thing against a person, to me, there is no fairness nor love in that. True love- loves with no limitations, true love is not judgmental, true love is not hesitant to learn nor teach, true love doesn't run from a problem it works through it and most important-True love sees the beauty in someone regardless of what they are lacking and wouldn't judge that person knowing that "they too" lack things within themselves.
With all that being said, I just wanted to take the opportunity to enlighten a few folks. I wanted to change the tone just a tad today and talk about something a lil different:) Give people a little insight into what I think about one being judged for who they are. I think Marilyn Monroe said it best, this has to be one of my favorite quotes …. “I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don’t deserve me at my best"- Marilyn Monroe
News: 800,000 H1N1 vaccine doses for children recalled. wtf?!.....
As I was watching CNN last night, I was startled to hear the latest about the infamous H1N1 vaccine. Word is that 800,000 vaccine doses for children were recalled! It was told that the vaccine was not as "powerful" as it should be. Government officials ran tests and found that the vaccinations were 12 percent below what they should be in terms of efficacy. Doctors were told to send the vaccine back to French manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur. There have been 800,000 doses given to children ranging from the ages of 6 months to 3 yrs old throughout various parts of the country. What kills me is that they are stating that parents "should not be concerned". Ummmmm yea, I beg to differ!!! If I were a parent, in no way shape or form would I be pleased to hear this info. Really tho Sanofi?!?!?!?!

What's on TV-"Talhotblond"......
This weekend I checked out this very disturbing yet, interesting documentary entitled "Talhotblond" on MSNBC, which is based on a true story. By far this has to be one of the best docs I've seen in 2009. It takes you into the twisted and dangerous world of online internet game rooms. It also shows you the horrific results of what can happen when people lie online. Very thought provoking with a shocking twist at the end, this is a must see! I was speechless to find out the end result, please check it out!
