Random thought......

Currently being still.......God help me!!!  "Just a soul who's intentions are good, please don't let me be misunderstood".....

Black Wallstreet- Let us not forget. I was reading this earlier and thought I'd share....

LIKE THE HOLOCAUST, LET US NOT FORGET.

A Moment In Black History Many Thanks To Our Forefathers, 88 yrs. ago.

The Date Was June 1, 1921,
"BLACK WALLSTREET"

The name fittingly given to one of the most affluent All-BLACKCommunities in America, was bombed from the air and Burned to the ground by mobs of envious Whites.  In a period spanning fewer than 12 hours, a once thriving Black Business District in northern Tulsa lay smoldering -- a model Community destroyed and a major African-American economic movement resoundingly defused.  The Night's Carnage left some 3,000 African Americans Dead and over 600 Successful Businesses Lost.  Among these were 21 Churches, 21 Restaurants, 30 Grocery Stores and 2 Movie Theaters, plus A Hospital, A Bank, a Post Office, Libraries, Schools, Law Offices, a half dozen Private Airplanes and even A Bus System.  As could have been expected, the impetus behind it all was the infamous Ku Klux Klan, working in consort with Ranking City Officials and many other Sympathizers.

The best description of BLACK WALLSTREET, or Little Africa as it was also known, would be to compare it to a mini - Berverly Hills.  It was the golden door of the BLACK Community during the early 1900s, and it proved that African Americans could create a successful infrastructure.  That's What BLACK WALLSTREET, Was All About.  The Dollar circulated 36 to 100 Times, sometimes taking a year for currency to leave the Community.  Now a Dollar leaves the BLACK Community in 15-minutes.  As Far As Resources, There were Ph.D.'s residing in Little Africa, BLACK Attorneys and Doctors.  One Doctor was Dr. Berry who owned the Bus System. His average income was $500 a Day, a hefty pocket change in 1910.
It was a time when the entire State of Oklahoma had only 2 Airports, yet 6 BLACKS, Owned their own Plane, it was a very Fascinating Community.  The mainstay of the Community was to educate every child.
Nepotism was the one word they Believed in. And that's what we need to get back to.  The main thoroughfare was Greenwood Avenue, and it was intersected by Archer and Pine Streets.  From the First Letters in each of those Three Names you get G.A.P. And that's where the renowned R and B Music Group The GAP Band got its name. They're From Tulsa.  BLACK WALLSTREET was a prime example of the typical, BLACK Community in America that did businesses, but it was in an unusual location.  You See, At The Time, Oklahoma was set aside to be a BLACK and Indian State.  There were over 28 BLACK Townships there.  One third of the People who traveled in the terrifying "Trail of Tears" along side the Indians between 1830 and 1842 were BLACK People.  The Citizens of this proposed Indian and BLACK State
Chose A BLACK Governor, A Treasurer from Kansas named McDade.  But the Ku Klux Klan said that if he assumed Office that they would Kill Him within 48 hours.  A lot of BLACKS owned Farmland, and many of them had gone into the Oil Business. The Community was so tight and Wealthy because they traded Dollars hand-to-hand, and because they were dependent upon one another as a result of the Jim Crow Laws.  It was not unusual that if a Resident's Home accidentally Burned down, it could be rebuilt within a few weeks by Neighbors.  This was the type of scenario that was going on Day-to-Day on BLACK WALLSTREET.  When BLACKs intermarried into the Indian Culture, some of them received their promised '40 Acres and A Mule' and with that came whatever Oil was later found on the Properties.   On BLACK WALLSTREET,  A lot of Global Business was conducted, The Community flourished from the Early 1900s until June 1, 1921.  That's when the Largest Massacre of Nonmilitary Americans in the History of this Country took place, and it was lead by The KU KLUX KLAN.  Imagine walking out of your front door and seeing 1,500 Homes being Burned. It must have been amazing.

Survivors we interviewed think that the whole thing was planned because during the time that all of this was going on; White Families with their children stood around the borders of their Community and watched The Massacre.  The looting and everything -- much in the same manner they would watch a Lynching.
The Riots weren't caused by anything Black or White.  It was caused by jealousy.  A lot of White Folks had come back from World War I and they were poor.  When they looked over into The BLACK Communities and realized that BLACK Men who Fought in The War had come, Home Heroes that helped trigger the destruction.  It cost the BLACK Community everything, and not a single dime of restitution--No Insurance Claims--has been awarded the victims to this day.  Nonetheless, they rebuilt.  We estimate 1,500 to 3,000 People were Killed and we know that a lot of them were Buried in Mass Graves all around the City.  Some were thrown into the river.  As a matter of fact, at 21st Street and Yale Avenue, where there now stands a Sears Parking Lot, that corner used to be a Coal Mine.  They threw a lot of the Bodies into the Shafts.  Unmarked Graves.

The Tulsa Race Riot Commission, Formed two years ago to determine exactly what happened, will consider next week the Controversial Issue of what, if any, Reparations should be paid to the Known Survivors of the Riot,  A Group of less than 100 that includes Beulah Smith, now 92, and Kenny Booker, 86. 'The Gun Went Off, The Riot Was On' On the Night of May 31,1921, Mobs called for the Lynching of Dick Rowland, A Black Man who shined shoes, after hearing reports that on the previous Day He had Assaulted Sarah Page, A White Woman, in the elevator she operated in a downtown building.  A Local Newspaper, Had Printed a Fabricated Story that Rowland tried to Rape Page.  In An Editorial, The same newspaper said a Hanging was Planned for that Night.  As Groups of both Blacks and Whites converged on the Tulsa Courthouse, a White Man in the Crowd Confronted an Crmed Black Man, A War Veteran, who had joined with other Black to protect Rowland.  A Fabricated Newspaper Story Triggered The Violent Riots that left Hundreds, if not Thousands, Dead.  Comm. Member Eddie Faye Gates told CNN what happened next.  "This White Man," she said, Asked The Black Man, "What Are You Doing With This Gun?" "I'm going to use it if I have to," the Black Man said, according to Gates, "and (the White Man) said, 'No, you're not.  Give it to me,' and he tried to take it.  The gun went off, the White Man was Dead, The Riot Was On."  Truckloads of Whites Set Fires and Shot Blacks on sight.  When the smoke lifted the Next Day, more than 1,400 Homes and Businesses in Tulsa 's Greenwood District, a prosperous area known as the "Black Wall Street," lay in ruins.
Today, Only a single block of the Original Buildings remains standing in the area.  Experts now estimate that at least 3,000, Died.

The Art Of Kissing....

***Kiss: the touching of one person's lips to another place, which is used as an expression of affection, respect, greeting, , good luck ...the act of caressing with the lips.

Kissing definitely has to be one of my favorite past times. There is nothing like snuggling up with my hunny and locking lips. Now don't get me wrong, there is a time and place for everything. Also, some people may not be kissers….hard to believe but true. Me on the other hand is a hopeless romantic and have always been smitten with just the mere thought of kissing my prince charming. I can even remember my 1st kiss, I was 12 years old and had a huge crush on my next door neighbor. Long story short, I wanted to impress him so badly that I told him that I knew how to french kiss. Boy oh boy…that was the biggest mistake of my life. As he lunged at me in the wood park, literally shoving his tongue in my mouth, I remember being utterly disgusted! I screamed and pushed him off of me, wiped my mouth and said "ohhhh nooo". Clearly, by then my secret was out that I had NEVER kissed a boy before. He looked at me as if I had two heads, said nevermind and headed to the basketball court. As I stood there wiping my mouth and also my tears- I felt like pure crap. I also came to the realization that I was gonna put the kissing game on hold until I was ready. Being that I am now a grown woman, I've learned to appreciate the art of kissing in all it's sensual glory. I can't help but toot my own horn, lol.:) My rules to kissing is that 1st) you have to really be into that person 2nd) make sure your breath is fresh (nobody wants a yuck mouth) 3rd) make sure that you have your technique down packed (slow is always a plus in my book) 4th) eye contact is sometimes sexy, staring into one anothers eyes gets some folks going. Yet, the typical eyes closed approach is always romantic 5th) make sure your hands are in the right places while your kissing (slow strokes to the face, back of the head or neck are key) 6th) and last but not least know your time limit-(don't overdo it where the person will get tired of kissing you, but work them up enough to want to rip you apart, lol) sometimes kissing really passionately and then pulling away heats up the situation. Happy kissing folks!!!:)

Kissing Techniques:

  • The French kiss - passion. Lasts for ever. Involves all parts of the mouth and excites the rest of the body. The point of this kiss is a “meeting” between the two tongues. The French kiss is a kind of “trespassing” to one’s privacy and can sometimes stimulate a rejection especially if the partner is the shy/afraid/close type.

  • The closed eyes kiss - usually by very romantic people that like to fantasies. While they close the eyes, they get the opportunity to concentrate on their fantasy, as they do not want it to be ruined by a nose hair sticking out of the partner’s nose, god forbid.

  • The opened eyes kiss - those people are always on a “watch”. Got to be in control. Connected to reality. Can not and would not let this experience swap them away. There is no fear on “crashing down” as they never left the ground. Those people and the suspicious, careful controlled type.

  • The vacuum kiss - A passion kiss that might hurt. It is a kiss the kind of “arguing” with the partner - my place or yours? It is like the kisser is trying to swallow the partner - not so much for love as for lust.

Vid pick of the day: Omarion "I Get It In" feat Gucci....

Ok, I am not too big on Omarion BUT, I must say I digs his new song.  Can't seem to stay still when I hear this- I get it in! Ok O, we see u....

Best gag gift of the year......HAHA!

This is by far one of the most cleaver gag gifts that I have EVER received from anyone!  My homegirl gave this to me today...I thought it was HILARIOUS!!!  It's basically a journal that you can write in when you get your monthly visitor.  You can list your cravings, times you were cramping, teas to drink etc....It also came with a little case to carry your tampons in.  COMEDY...PURE COMEDY, I tell ya!!!

Monday's Quotes....

"Being educated is my biggest weapon.  Everyday I learn/teach myself something new, that is how I refuel on ammunition"-Lolly Daniel - (my personal favorite I tell myself every morning)....

"When somebody challenges you, fight back. Be brutal, be tough, Just go get them. Without passion, you don’t have energy, without energy you have nothing and most of all therefore, you don't have success."- Donald Trump

Random: Pauly D from the "Jersey Shore" and his Sonic the Hedgehog hair-lmao....

So, last week MTV gave us a "somewhat" xmas party, which consisted of shutting down a few floors in the building and serving us booze and food (yay-rolling eyes). Also, get a load of  this... the surprise guests were the cast of the "Jersey Shore" show WHAMP WHAMP, LMAO. Although, the party which lasted about 3 to 4 hours was blah. I did enjoy myself with the free food, drinks and making fun of the "FIST PUMPING" Jersey shore clowns, lol. One of the cast members- Pauly D has this spiked geled hair that looks absolutely ridiculous yet, I have to admit he was probably one of the nicest guys from the entire show. His hair always looks like Sonic the Hedgehog when I see it on tv therefore, I was tempted to touch it and see what the hell it felt like. As you can see by my reaction, it felt like stale bread. I didn't mean to laugh in the kids face but it was beyond funny:)

**Sidebar- I know folks ....my facial expression looks crazy, but I couldn't hold it in!!! Also, what dude wears a glitter star belt?!?!  BOI STOP!!!!

New Music Leak: Camron feat Vado- "Ooh Baby"....Check out Cam's quote @ the bottom, lol.

"BABY LET'S  DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND GET 2 YOOHOOS, 3 BUTTER CRUNCHES AND A METROCARD"- CAMRON.  BWHAHAHAHAHA  REALLY THO CAM?!?!  GOTTA LOVE IT!!

Rest In Peace Brittany Murphy.....

I was unbelievably shocked to get the news yesterday that 32 year old actress Brittany Murphy had passed away.  Word is that Brittany had a heart attack and was discovered unconscious by her mom in the shower.  She died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.  So sad.....once again a lesson learned on how short life is!!!  For those who may not know who Ms. Murphy was, she was popular for her role as "Tai" in the movie "Clueless".  She played the corky friend who was in need of a fashion makeover.  Other movies that you may have seen her in was "8 mile" as Eminem's girl, "Little Black Book", "Uptown Girls" and many more.  Brittany was  the voice of Luanne on the cartoon "King Of The Hill",  and she also had an amazing singing voice and was working on an album.  She briefly dated Ashton Kutcher years ago....who was heart broken by the news and was heard to have tweeted yesterday "Today the world has lost a piece of sunshine".  Gone too soon, Rest In Peace Brittany, prayers and condolences to her family.

* This is one of my favorite clips from the movie "Clueless", lol.....
