Random: Oh how I love the infamous Soul Train Line Dance, let me count the ways.....

So, last night my boyfriend and I were in a trance til 1am watching a VH1 special about the history of "Soul Train".  They especially focused on the "infamous" Soul Train Line Dance, which was always one of my FAVORITE parts of the show besides the performances.  Seeing these dancers from the 70's just reminded me how much life, zest, funk and swag people had even way back then.  If I grew up in that era... I'd definitely think twice about battling with any of these folks, they had their routines down packed!!!!!  With that being said, I wanted to share with you a few routines that caught my attention, so enjoy.  Love, Peace and Soooouuullll-hahaha gotta love it!

Rest In Peace Corey Haim 1971-2010......

This morning popular 80's teen idol Corey Haim passed away from a drug overdose. Just about any girl who grew up in the 80's had a crush on this kid. Well, maybe not "any" girl but I know I did, lol. He was best known for his roles in "Lucas" and my personal favorite "The Lost Boys"-which also starred his BFF Corey Feldman. It's sad to see yet another childhood actor lose his life to something as foolish as drugs. My heart is STILL aching from River Phoenix OH BOY…that was a hard one *sigh*. Sorry, still trying to get past that, but back to Corey...he was with his mother at the time of his death.  Haim was found unresponsive in his apt and was rushed to St. Joseph's Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.  A life lost at 38 years old again, Rest In Peace Corey and thanks for the great movies.....

***Sidebar-Totally random but I had to throw River in here somewhere just because-ahhhhhhh :(  At least his younger brother Joaquin  Phoenix carries on his legacy!

People making moves: Phoenix Higgins Of "Urban Hang Suite".....

It is my pleasure to share with you some photos that I took a few weeks ago. It's from the taping of the 1st episode for "Urban Hang Suite". For those who may not know what that is…it is a blog talk radio show that was created by Phoenix Higgins. This show is for the young and intelligent and focuses on everything from politics, relationships, sex and even child support issues. Now this is not your typical "radio show"….it's pure, raw and uncut- in other words, make sure your kids are asleep, lol. That's what makes it a quality show, you get REAL talk from REAL people and listeners are able to interact! Phoenix is joined by Hadiyah Robinson, Chay Lee and Chanel Brandon. This cast is witty, sharp and they get straight to the point with no chaser! There are definitely big things in store for this show. Stay tuned and look out for episodes online very soon folks. This just goes to show what happens when you dream BIG. An ambitious country boy from Alabama about to take over! Words cannot express how proud I am of you baby (can you tell I'm a proud girlfriend? Lol)….

What's on TV: "How To Make It In America" HBO Series....

Many of you have probably seen the 1st poster above all around NYC train stations. It caught my eye when I first saw it and always wondered what this show was all about. For folks who don't have HBO, like myself (basic cable kinda gal) lol…you can catch episodes on HBO.com. With that being said, I took it upon myself to check out the trailer and see what the buzz was about prior to me actually watching the show. This new HBO series which is executive produced by Mark Wahlberg also stars rapper Kid Cudi. It's centered around 3 ambitious 20 somethings trying to make it in the belly of the beast-aka New York City. Sounds like what we're all trying to do these days:) Yet, I will give it the benefit of the doubt and see if it's worth watching!
