New Music: Rick Ross feat Kanye West "Live Fast, Die Young".....

My take on the BET Awards......

For those of you who didn't catch the awards, you missed out.  This was by far the best BET awards that I've seen in a long time.  I was more than excited to see Kanye open the show.  As arrogant as he is- you gotta luv him!  I am not gonna lie when he is off the scene, I sort of miss the kid.  The main highlights of the night for me was when El DeBarge came out.  WOOOO TO DA WEEEE!!!!  That performance brought back so many memories of my childhood.  Not only did El still look great (slick hair and all) BUT his voice was ON POINT!  These young cats could learn a thing or two from him. 


Another fav moment of mine was the infamous "Love Jones" Flashback.  When Nia and Larenz busted out the poetry skit-I LOST IT!!  Nia looked fab as usual and Oh Larenze w/ that "Brother to the night" poem-NUFF SAID!!!!  Chris Breezy definitely redeemed himself with an amazing tribute to MJ!!!  He left me speechless BUT not sure how sincere those tears were *sideeye*.  Now although this next tribute was a bit shaky for me, I enjoyed certain parts.  I am HUGE FAN of the purple one aka "Prince".  Yet, I was a little disappointed with this one.  Like really tho?! Where was the Raspberry Beret?  Lil Red Corevette?  I will die for you?  Darling Nikki?  *sigh*.  The only two who really did him justice was Alicia (homewrecking) Keys and good ole Patti LaBelle. 

Prince is not usually moved especially when folks cover his songs.   Although, when Patti got on that stage he was nearly moved to tears.  Oh, and let's not forget Trey Songz.  Oh Tremaine how I dig you BUT that rendition of Purple Rain:(  *crickets*. Prince gave him that look like "Get yo ass off the muthaf*cking stage b4 i slice you"...poor thing.  Still luv ya though Trigga:)   I wanna give props to Queen Latifah too who did a sick job hosting.  She took it back to the Cleo look and the Ladies 1st vid-loved it!!


Last but not least- The Aftershow hosted by Diddy. Oh where do I start?!?!  One word- TARAJI!!!!  She was a hot stir fried, sauteed MESS:(  She was sloppy drunk off of that Ciroc and didn't hide it one bit.  I was beyond mortified when she put on Diddy's chains and was bopping around like a hoodrat!  I was also super irked when she called El DeBarge "CHICO" wtf?!?!?!  Other than that, I really enjoyed the awards.  Not to mention the ppl on twitter who made it even more entertaining!  Good looking folks, lol.

Rest In Peace Michael Jackson- August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009......

Can't believe it's been 1 year already *sigh*-Micheal Jackson..........

Tomorrow June 25th will be 1 year since Michael Jackson's passing.  It's crazy how time flies...now I'm not gonna go into a long & sad confession about how he's no longer with us.  Yet, I'm gonna blast his music all day, watch his music videos and just enjoy the gift he has given us.  His music, his passion, his legacy. I hope everyone takes the opportunity tomorrow to play at least 1 MJ song and rejoice his life.  R.I.P. Michael & thank you for sharing yourself with the world........

Music: Christina Aguilera performing "You Lost Me".....

There are very few artists that give me goosebumps when I hear them sing.  Christina Aguilera happens to be one of them.  I've always been a fan of her raw and powerful voice.  She always has the ability to bring a song to life, especially when singing ballads.  She has what I call the "make your hair stand" effect.  Which means that someone's voice is so beautiful it makes the hairs on your arms stand up, lol.  With that being said, my co-worker told me to check out this live performance of Christina on VH1's Storytellers.  She is singing this ballad entitled "You Lost Me"from her new album.  I fell in love with it the minute I heard it and Christina's voice is amazing on this record.  Check it.....

Happy Birthday Tupac Amaru Shakur.....

I can talk about Pac for DAAAAYYYS.  Where do I start???  First off, I'd like to wish him a Happy B-day, had he lived, Pac would have been 38yrs old today.

Anyone who knows me is VERY aware of my love for him.  I swore to the world that I was THE BIGGEST Tupac fan ever, lmao.  Girls I went to H.S. will tell ya...I had him on my lockers, studied every single one of his songs, bought every video he had, watched every interview he did.  If it was affiliated with him, I was involved in it!  I've always loved Rap, but when Pac came in the game I had a new found appreciation for something I loved for years.  It's like I fell in love all over again.  I was fascinated by his charisma, his flow, his arrogance, his cockiness, the way he articulated his words, his storytelling just EVERYTHING.   I once considered being a hip hop journalist because of him. 

Unfortunately, I was never blessed with the opportunity to meet Pac, BUT my sister Marge did.  It was actually the best day of my life.  Long story short, my sister met him at the VMA'S in "96".  My mom didn't allow me to go because I had school the next day (I'll 4give u for that 1 mama).  Anyhoo, I hounded my sis all night and told her "DON'T COME HOME UNLESS YOU HAVE A PAC AUTOGRAPH OR PIC FOR ME"-LMAO.  I was dead serious!  All in all the night turned out amazing and YES, my sis got me an autograph and pic of Mr. Shakur!!!!!!!!!  He even asked her what my name was and when she said "Lolly"  he was smiling and said it was cute!  OOOOOWWWW, Pac said my name was cute, I could die a happy woman,haha.  That was an amazing night for me when she came home and surprised me with my gift.  I now keep the pic and autograph in a frame wrapped in plastic.  Sadly, a few days after that Pac was shot:(

With that being said, I just want people to remember him today and rejoice his life.  Play his music, look at some of his videos whatever the case may be.  Whether you liked him or not...you had to respect him!  Again, Happy B-day & Rest In Peace Pac.......
